When you arrive abroad, and switch your phone on, it should automatically roam and find a service provider for you. If this doesn’t happen, you need to do a “manual roam”. Information on how to do this will be in your phone instruction booklet.
In some countries you can access your voicemail as you do at home by dialling 901. In other countries you will need to interrupt your greeting by keying * and entering your PIN. If your destination is not a direct dial country, you need to dial 1780 free from your handset before you go. You will then get a text with your personal voicemail retrieval number. If you forget to call 1780 before you go abroad, you can alternatively dial +44 7802 090100 to get the number sent to you.
To access your voicemail messages while you are abroad, you need to set up a personalised security code before you leave. To do this: Call 121 from your handset and follow the instructions. Some countries will allow you to dial 121 or 242 to access your messages. Others will ask you to call a number.
